TIKI Engine and Tool Set

To build our games, we have an efficient, powerful production pathway that automatically processes and prepares assets for use by our flexible GBA and DS engine. This art pathway allows artists to use a broad spectrum of both off-the-shelf and custom 2D and 3D art tools to create their artistic visions and quickly “get them in the game.” Our engine is re-configurable and supports all of the basic game styles: isometric, side-scrolling and pseudo 3D “mode 7”. It boasts a robust list of features, including:

• Realistic 2D and 3D physics and collisions

• Animated and destructible background planes

• Custom sprite VRAM management for sprites whose dimensions exceed GBA hardware limitations

• Dynamic background tile streaming for huge background maps and levels

• Scaling and transparency effects for both sprites and background planes

• Particle effect system

• Object-oriented instance management

• GBA link cable support for up to four simultaneous players in HEAD-to-HEAD and CO-OP modes

• Taniko updates its technology and tools to the Nintendo DS. Wireless multiplayer and vector drawing added.

• Wireless racing on BREW-enabled phones. Full game available for demos. 

• NEW! SunPlus hardware SPG 200 game engine (JAKKS TV Games and GameKey).
